Reciprocating pumps advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of reciprocating pumps:
(1) the performance of the pump does not change with the change of pressure and viscosity of the conveying medium;
(2) in principle, any medium can be transported, almost free from the physical or chemical nature of the medium;
(3) high exhaust pressure can be obtained, and the flow rate is independent of pressure, good absorbability and high efficiency, among which, the steam reciprocating pumps can reach 80%~95%;
Disadvantages of reciprocating pumps:
(1) the flow rate of reciprocating pumps is not very stable in the process of working, which is larger than that of centrifugal pump at the same flow rate;
(2) complex structure, large amount of funds, and not too fast speed;
(3) not easy to maintain and so on, and relatively high maintenance cost, not very sensitive to liquid pollution;
